How to clean your white sneakers

It seems like white sneakers are doomed to get dirty no matter how much you think you are protecting them. Don’t worry about it, it happens to the best of us.

I have put together what I do to maintain my white sneakers clean at all times.

Start with the shoelaces

Don’t forget about them. The first thing that I do in the process of cleaning my sneakers is to remove the shoelaces and take care of them. I let them sink in hot water and a few drops of laundry detergents.

Leather White Sneakers

If you are dealing with leather white sneakers – here is the solution to your problems. It’s quite easy and effortlessly. All you need is a toothbrush and white toothpaste. That’s all.

Start scrubbing the sneakers and continue to do so until you are happy with how they look.
If there are some places that dirt won’t go away, add some sugar to the toothpaste.

Suede White Sneakers

This process is a little bit more complicated than cleaning white leather sneakers. The fabric is pretty delicate and you need to be careful especially if you are cleaning stains.

So what do you need? Grab a dry paper towel and dry the stain (of course, do this step only if you just made the stain). DO NOT rub it, be gentle.

Then soak a cloth in vinegar and rub out the stained area.

Cleaning sneakers – how often?

Of course, not every day. But if you want them to look clean at all times you will want to clean them at least every two weeks. This is in case you don’t wear them that often.

If you do wear them often you would want to clean them more.

Don’t let a stain stay a long time because it will be even harder to remove.
